Co-Generation » Return to Stationary Power

Cogeneration is the simultaneous production of electric power and other forms of energy, such as hot water or process steam, from the same facility. A Cogeneration plant is economically advantageous because it utilizes heat from the engine that is normally wasted. Jacket water heat and exhaust heat can easily be recovered to provide energy for heating and cooling of air and water systems and for manufacturing processes.

Cogeneration equipment is being effectively installed in university buildings, chemical plants, hospitals, and sewage treatment plants around the world. Fairbanks Morse Engine's, OP, Colt-Pielstick, FM-MAN and FM AlCO engines are cornerstones of the diesel and dual-fuel stationary power industry and Fairbanks Morse Engine is committed to the effective use of efficient co-generation technology.
