Fairbanks Morse Engine Expands Engine Portfolio
January 17th, 2007
Beloit, Wisconsin – Fairbanks Morse Engine, an EnPro Industries company, expanded its engine portfolio by announcing the addition of the Fairbanks Morse FM-MAN 28/33D. “Our relationship with MAN Diesel and strong market position in the U.S. provided Fairbanks Morse Engine the opportunity to become the first and exclusive 28/33D licensee.” said Dan Bowman, VP Sales and Marketing.

The FM-MAN 28/33D is the world's most powerful and fuel efficient medium speed diesel engine. Available in 12, 16, and 20 cylinder “V” configurations the FM-MAN 28/33D provides 5,400 to 9,000 kW of continuous power at 1,000 rpm. The FM-MAN 28/33D is currently available for marine mechanical drive and genset applications.

The FM-MAN 28/33D incorporates advanced electronic fuel injection for best in class fuel consumption (<190 g/kWh) and NOx (< 10 g/kWh) emissions. Reduced component count and a best in class 32,000 hour overhaul interval significantly improves reliability and minimizes maintenance cost.

The Fairbanks Morse FM-MAN 28/33D will be manufactured, assembled, and tested in Beloit, WI under license from MAN Diesel.
