This course is one week in length. Approximately 40% of the student's time will be spent in a classroom covering the technical manual and maintenance procedures, component ID and control system troubleshooting. The remaining time will be spent performing hands-on training with various engine components.
The engine lab contains components from one cylinder including liner support ring, firing land ring, piston, con rod, head, rocker box, injection pump, and nozzle. Disassembly of these parts and use of special tools is covered.
